Emily Carr University of Art + Design (ECU) is pleased to announce our partnership with Global Education Communities (GEC) for a new housing opportunity at GEC Kingsway to expand off-campus housing for all ECU students.
Through this partnership, students can apply to live at GEC Kingsway (4589 Gladstone St) in Vancouver. Open to both domestic and international students, the purpose-built rental building offers a supportive community, convenient access to campus by transit and amenities designed to help students settle into university life.
“Finding housing in Vancouver can be one of the biggest hurdles our students face,” said Diyan Achjadi, Vice President Academic + Provost. “Through this partnership with GEC Living, we are hoping to alleviate this burden and offer housing that offers a welcoming community, which supports student success, wellness and independence during the academic year.”
This partnership reaffirms ECU’s commitment to supporting the student experience, and by increasing access to purpose-built housing, we aim to help students settle into Vancouver with greater peace of mind.
Students who are accepted to live at GEC Living will be welcomed into a community-oriented building and can choose from shared rooms, private rooms and private apartments at different rates to suit their budget. Students at GEC Kingsway will benefit from a range of included amenities, including high-speed internet, in-suite laundry, air conditioning, housekeeping services, and 24/7 security.
GEC Living is the largest off-campus student accommodation provider and operates six different residences across Vancouver. At each residence, GEC Living provides year-round programming, with social, cultural, and wellness activities that help students feel at home while studying in Vancouver.
