This is the moment they’ve been working toward. Immerse yourself in over 400 final projects from our graduating class across Fine Arts, Media Arts and Design. From installations, paintings and illustrations to digital media and film, Opening Night is your first look at the next generation of artists and designers who will shape the future of the creative practice!
One of Vancouver’s largest art exhibitions, and this year, a milestone: ECU’s 100th anniversary.
Here’s what you can expect for the evening:
- Move it! DJ Skytrain will be bringing a rich musical collage spanning electronica, house, hip-hop, jazz, new wave and post-punk. Get ready to move.
- Capture the Magic! Strike a pose and create lasting memories at our photobooth.
- Savour Local Sips + Bites! Enjoy a curated selection of refreshing BC wines, craft beers, and Olé mocktails, plus tasty snacks from The Chai Wagon and The Caf, (available for purchase with Visa, M/C, or Debit).
- Take Home a Piece of ECU 100! Be among the first to shop the Student Merchandise Collection, launching this night and featuring work by the next generation of creative leaders.

Regular operating hours for the parking garage next to ECU are 6:30am to 11pm. Free parking will be available first-come on Opening Night, May 13, from 5 – 10pm. Visitors must park in the clearly visible ECU-designated spaces on Level P2, with no ticket required. Paid parking is in effect on all other levels and for the duration of the exhibition.
