Description (ECIAD)Soft pastels are known to be richly pigmented yet blendable and forgiving, making them ideal for beginners who would like to explore intense, colourful artwork with a versatile application. This three-day workshop will guide you through foundational chalk pastel techniques that will help develop your technical skills. Through creative exercises and experimentation, you will learn how to use different pressures and techniques to achieve fine detail, smooth gradients and dynamic textures. A variety of pastel tools will be introduced, allowing students to discover what best supports their creative goals. Emphasis will be placed on building confidence while exploring mark-making and composition.
