Description (ECIAD)Learn to draw the human face to capture character, expression and anatomical believability. This intermediate-level course provides an in-depth study of portraiture using conceptual and naturalistic styles, exaggeration and modification of features, morphology of the skull, and mechanics of the neck and shoulders. Through a range of in-class exercises with live models and photographic representations, you will practice integrating contour and interior surfaces, rendering shapes, identifying bone structure, exploring proportion, texture and lighting. This course encourages a variety of media including graphite, charcoal, and ink, greyscale and colour.
