About Dr. Ramroop Singh
Dr. Ramroop Singh is widely recognized at TRU for her innovative, evidence-informed teaching in biology and biochemistry, particularly in large, foundational courses that are critical to student persistence and success. Her teaching emphasizes academic rigor alongside inclusive, studentcentred design, supporting learners from diverse backgrounds, including first-generation and international students. Through the creation and adoption of zero-textbook-cost open educational resources which are being used not only by local TRU students, but by learners in all parts of the globe, she has significantly reduced financial barriers while enhancing student engagement and conceptual understanding.
Dr. Ramroop Singh has led institutionally and nationally recognized initiatives in open pedagogy and SoTL, mentored undergraduate students as research partners, and contributed to reconciliation through the co-creation of an open biochemistry resource on Indigenous medicines in partnership with the Cayoose Creek Band of Sekw’el’was.
