This year, 36 students were honoured with graduation awards for their exceptional work and achievements.
The Graduating Class of 2025 was the largest class of Emily Carr University of Art + Design’s (ECU) history and created some of the most stunning and dynamic works at The Show, our annual student exhibition.
Our esteemed judges conferred 36 graduation awards and 23 honourable mentions to these students for their phenomenal achievements. In total, 36 students received awards valued at $26,150 based on their works and screenings exhibited in-person and online at The Show, their GPAs, or a combination of the two.
Several students received multiple awards and honourable mentions:
- Parnian Anaa (BDes) won the DESIS Radical Sustainability Award and the Emily Carr Alumni Association Graduation Award for Community Engagement for their project ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE.
- Marissa Hendrawan (BMA) won the John C. Kerr Chancellor Emeritus Awards for Excellence in Media Arts and shared the President’s Media Awards for Excellence – Best in 3D Computer Animation with Adryan Jones, Nieve A Paw Cho Sing, Filipe Canavarro Pereira, Annabelle Bianca Sugiarto, Lavina Natalie Wijaya and Qianyu Xie for their project, Kepme’k.
The university is immensely grateful to our valued donors for supporting emerging and innovative artists. The juries, made up of talented industry experts, enthusiastic curators, and passionate artists and designers, thoughtfully deliberated to select the winners.
