Intricate Rituals

Examining technology as both subject and object.

Intricate Rituals examines technology as both subject and object, tracing intimate and entangled encounters between body, media and movement. Through interactive installations, performance, sound and video, the exhibition reflects on the limits, thresholds and choreographies that shape our ever-evolving digital culture. What emerges when our relationship to technology becomes a site of inquiry, and at times, a site of friction?

Bringing together ten students from ECU’s New Media and Sound Art and MFA programs, Intricate Rituals marks the City of New Westminster’s Art and Technology Mentorship program, presented at New Media Gallery and mentored by Jae Lew, hope akello, Peter Bussigel and Julie Andreyev.
