Online Info-Session | Call for Artists – 2026 Toronto Outdoor Art Fair

Join the info session to learn more about TOAF and this opportunity for Emily Carr University students.

Founded in 1961, TOAF connects Canadian artists directly with the public and showcases more than 400 emerging and established visual artists annually. The Fair attracts over 170,000 visitors, generating more than $2 million in art sales each year. This free public event takes place every July—rain or shine—at Nathan Phillips Square in downtown Toronto.

2026 marks TOAF’s 65th anniversary. Submisssions are open to be part of this landmark event!

More About The Opportunity

In-Person Fair (4 students selected):
Four students will be selected to showcase their work in person at the 65th Toronto Outdoor Art Fair in downtown Toronto and online at TOAF.ca. Selected students will also receive a Travel Bursary of up to $1,500 to support costs related to attending the Fair (e.g., travel, shipping artwork, accommodation).

Exclusively Online Fair (5 students selected):
Five additional students will be selected to participate in TOAF’s Exclusively Online Fair at TOAF.ca—Canada’s fastest-growing online art discovery and e-commerce platform.

What’s Included

In-Person Fair (per student):

  • Travel Bursary of up to $1,500
  • 10’ x 10’ booth space
  • Tent and equipment package, including:
    • 10’ x 10’ pop-up tent
    • Walls and weights
    • 6’ table and 2 chairs
    • Three 2’ x 8’ hanging grid walls
  • Overnight artwork storage at Nathan Phillips Square
  • Online e-commerce profile active from July 2026–March 2027

Submission Process

Submit your portfolio by email to: creativecareers@ecuad.ca
Application Deadline:
 February 6, 2026

Applications will be reviewed by an ECU faculty selection committee.
Please note: Students selected through this program are not eligible for TOAF’s Awards Program.

Submission Requirements

  • 6 images of artwork (a consistent body of work)
  • 1 installation, grouping, or booth image (work shown in context)
  • Artist statement (maximum 500 characters)
  • Short description of process and medium/method (maximum 200 characters)
  • Student ID number
