FIPPA at ECU
As a public body, Emily Carr University is governed by the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA). FIPPA has two main purposes:
- Freedom of Information to ensure public access to records and support transparency
- Protection of Privacy to prevent the unauthorized collection, use or disclosure of personal information
- Website Privacy + Legal to protect your personal information and maintaining transparency about how we collect, use and share data
FIPPA gives the public a right to request records held by the university and sets the rules for how we protect personal information.
