Description

Prototyping is an effective way for UX designers to communicate their design ideas to stakeholders, clients, and team members. They allow a designer to iterate, test and validate solutions with users before investing significant resources for development. Beginning by identifying and defining a problem statement, this course will teach you the importance of storyboarding, guide you through essential concept development and repeatable ideation techniques, and the principles of information architecture to plan a UX workflow. Through a series of lectures and hands-on exercises, you will transform design ideas from low fidelity paper wireframes into interactive and visually appealing high-fidelity prototypes using industry standard digital tools.

What You'll Learn

  1. Develop an outcomes-focused collaborative workshop to identify problems, generate ideas and find solutions
  2. Differentiate between low, medium, and high fidelity prototypes for UX design
  3. Demonstrate how to set up, facilitate and participate in a user testing exercise for a prototype
  4. Apply the principles of information architecture to create paper wireframes for a mobile app
  5. Use rapid prototyping to consistently gather insights about user wants and needs
  6. Implement usability testing to validate progress made on a prototype
  7. Apply an iterative method to progressively design low- to high-fidelity prototypes
  8. Use industry standard tools to design a high-fidelity prototype for a mobile app
  9. Incorporate interactive components to enhance storytelling and increase user engagement during the prototyping phase
