Description

Exploring UI tools, this class will dive into the technical aspects of defining a UI design, turning your designs into polished styles, components and prototypes that will follow industry standards. In this course, we will focus on the technical application and patterns when defining typography, colour, layout, etc. and the tools used within the UX industry. Through activities and walkthroughs, you will explore common UI building patterns such as styles & variables, component-driven design concepts, wireframing to prototyping user interactions and scenarios. Learning these techniques will help you gain confidence with professional UI tools and translate your ideas into structured, interactive prototypes.

What You'll Learn

  1. Use UI tools and software to create user interface designs and interactive prototypes
  2. Describe and apply principles of interactivity, including responsive design and scalable layouts
  3. Create and organize UI components, properties (styles) and states using appropriate UI tools
  4. Apply component-driven design methodologies to structure scalable and reusable UI designs
  5. Develop low, medium, and high-fidelity prototypes using UI tools to test interaction scenarios
