Description

Learn the principles, processes, and design thinking stages behind thoughtful user interface (UI) design. This course introduces you to the visual language of UI, including hierarchy, layout and composition, typography, colour, and iconography. Consider how design decisions can help user experience, creating a conversation between user and product. You’ll experiment with developing your own design voice while drawing inspiration from other designers and design trends. Through experiences like studio exercises, projects, discussions and critiques, you'll have opportunities to practice your UI design skills, respond to real-world challenges, reflect on your process and support your peers’ growth as designers.

What You'll Learn

  2. Apply design terminology to projects, discussions and critiques
  3. Select and justify UI design elements, including typefaces and colours, in response to user needs and project goals
  4. Develop and document design concepts through sketching, experimentation and an inspiration library
