Description

Learn to remove accessibility barriers in design to ensure equality and inclusion of access and experience for differently abled bodies. This course explores the value of accessibility, different disability types, assistive technologies, accessibility regulations and the language of accessibility for digital products. You will examine and apply various Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), discover how to test for and document accessibility issues by applying several manual and automated accessibility testing methods, and present your recommendations for valuable, intuitive, and accessible digital content and interfaces. By the end of the course, you will have designed a compelling, accessible, and responsive high-fidelity wireframe or prototype that demonstrates your knowledge of accessible design.

What You'll Learn

  1. Understand the relationship between accessibility, inclusive design, and user experience design.
  2. Explain and promote the importance of accessibility and how it benefits everyone including people with disabilities
  3. Describe the accessibility language and its value to the business, users, and other stakeholders
  4. Examine different impairment types, assistive technologies, and accessibility regulations
  5. Evaluate digital elements by applying various accessibility testing methods
  6. Document the digital accessibility issues by highlighting the key accessibility obstacles and compliance strategies
  7. Design accessible, intuitive, and aesthetically appealing user interfaces compliant with the WCAG
