Description

Gain fundamental skills to create simple scripts in Unity. With no prior coding knowledge required, this introductory course will take you through the process of reading code, understanding how it is structured, writing simple scripts, and creating simple prototypes and interactive menus. Through in-class exercises and assignments, you will use pre-built functions and build your own code to execute actions such manipulating objects on the screen. By the end of this course, you will understand the building blocks of code, basic variables that are used for storing data, and the power of functions.

What You'll Learn

  1. Gain proficiency in reading and writing code
  2. Identify and understand variables in code including types for numbers, characters, and other data
  3. Understand, create and define functions
  4. Understand and apply conditions and loops
  5. Understand and apply classes and objects
  6. Gain familiarity to Unity lifecycles (Start, Awake, Enable, Update etc)
  7. Explore data structures like arrays and lists
  8. Create and handle web requests
