Indigenous Students
ECU offers mentorship, funding and cultural resources to help Indigenous students make space for your work, your voice and your well-being.
At the heart of this support is the Aboriginal Gathering Place (AGP), a welcoming space for Indigenous students to gather, reflect, create and connect. It’s a place to meet Elders and peers, to find grounding and to grow your practice in ways that honour who you are and where you come from. It’s also where you can find information about scholarships, Indigenous emergency funding and more.

Funding + Awards for Indigenous Students
We know that funding can make a big difference. Indigenous students at ECU may be eligible for a range of scholarships, bursaries and grants, offered through the university, community organizations and Indigenous governments.
A list of both ECU-administered and external funding opportunities for Indigenous Students can be found on the Aboriginal Gathering Place (AGP) website.

Support, Culture + Community
The team at the Aboriginal Gathering Place is here to support you with mentorship, workshops, cultural programs and space to just be. You might drop in for a drum-making workshop, a seasonal feast or a quiet moment between classes. It’s a place to connect, to reflect and to be part of a community that honours who you are and where you come from.
