Academic Support

Meet with an Advisor

Whether you’re exploring majors, planning your courses or working toward graduation, advisors can help you stay on track and make informed choices about your academic path. Explore the many ways to connect with an advisor below.

Ways to Connect

Drop-in Advising Online Sessions  
  • Available Tuesday to Thursday, 11:00 am – 12:30 pm PST
  • Log in to the appointment site using your ECU credentials. After logging in, click the Teams drop-in link to join.
  • For mobile users: After logging in, click “View the Announcements” at the top of the screen for the Teams drop-in link.
  • You’ll enter a waiting room until it’s your turn. Have your questions and student number ready.
  • When it is your turn Advising staff will welcome you then send you to a breakout room where you will meet with an Academic Advisor.
  • Stay attentive to the Chat window on Teams, as we may use it to communicate with you.
  • If you see “the meeting is locked by the host,” the session is either not yet open or has reached capacity.
Drop-in Advising In-Person Sessions

Held Tuesdays, 11:00 am – 12:30 pm PST in Room D2435 (Small Boardroom).

Advising by Email

For quick questions, email aadvising@ecuad.ca an advisor. Include your:

  • Name
  • Student ID
  • Program
  • Year level
  • Subject you’d like to discuss.

Advisors aim to respond within 3–5 business days or direct you to the appropriate office.

Advising by Appointments

For in-depth discussions, book a 30-minute online appointment:

  • Appointments available Monday to Friday, 9:30 am – 4:00 pm PT.
  • Book through the appointment site using your ECU email credentials.
  • You’ll receive a confirmation upon booking and a reminder the day before.
  • If you need to cancel, please do so online to free up the slot for others.
  • Missing two appointments without cancellation will result in loss of online booking privileges for the semester.
  • Occasionally advisors need to cancel appointments and will let you know by email.
Advising for Prospective Students

If you are considering applying to Emily Carr University, please contact the Admissions Office. Admissions has an Advisor who can discuss programs and course transferability with you.
