Getting Here + Around Campus (Accessibility)
By Public Transportation
The Emily Carr University campus is centrally located between two SkyTrain stations and along a bus route. For more information on transit routes and bus schedules, visit TransLink’s trip planner. You can use the trip planner to identify wheelchair-accessible transit routes.
Nearby SkyTrain Stations
VCC–Clark Station: Approximately a 13-minute walk
Main Street–Science World Station: Approximately a 16-minute walk
Bus Routes
Bus 84 – stops at Great Northern Way + Carolina Street (a 1-minute walk)
Bus 3, 8 and 19 – stop at Main Street-Science World Station
Bus 99 and 9 – stop at Commercial Drive Station; transfer lines to get to VCC-Clark Station
Accessible Parking
Designated accessible parking spaces are available in the underground lot at 565 Great Northern Way. A valid SPARC BC permit or equivalent is required.

Getting into the Building
- The primary public entrance is located at the southwest corner of the building.
- The main entrance is sheltered and accessible by both ramp and stairs, and there are power-assisted doors.
- All other campus entrance doors are power-assisted, but only the main public entrance has a ramp.
- Once you’re inside, the Information desk is on your left-hand side. If you need assistance navigating campus, feel free to ask them for help.
Getting Around Campus
- The university building spans four floors and is entirely wheelchair accessible, with automatic doors at key entry points.
- There are elevators in the middle of campus, at the east end and inside the library.
- Wayfinding signage is posted throughout the campus.
- Seating is available in hallways throughout campus.
- Single-stall accessible and gender-neutral washrooms are located throughout the campus and inside the library.
- Service animals are welcome on campus.
