Research Interests
Sophie’s research and creative work lie at the intersection of digital storytelling, fine arts, and technical workflows in animation. She explores how sculpture, anatomy, and life drawing inform digital look development and character lighting, while architecture, history, and nature inspire unconventional environments. Her practice examines how artistic principles—form, light, movement, emotion—translate into 3D spaces, and how tools like Katana, Mari, and Nuke support ideas both efficiently and expressively. She also studies the pedagogy of technical art education: how to teach complex tools, use narrative to structure learning, and bridge engineering with creative thinking. She is especially interested in the emotional impact of imagery and the ways digital creation connects with audiences, inspires students, and expresses human experience. By blending real-world influences with technical knowledge, she seeks to deepen her understanding and share discoveries with the next generation of artists.
