Bio

Petey, a creative lead previously based from Honolulu, Oahu, Hawai'i, has made a significant impact in the creative field with his work being showcased in prominent publications such as Hi-Fructose, Vice, Architectural Digest, Hypebeast Japan and Designboom. His expertise has led to collaborations with a range of notable brands, including Nvidia, Shing02, Rover.com, Guerrilla Jiu-Jitsu, Howard Hughes, Maxxis Tires, Vertex Car Make T&E and Meister Watches, among others. Additionally, he has lent his talents to top-tier agencies like The Carpenter Group, Creative Circle, and Aux Creative. Prior to moving to Vancouver, Petey played a pivotal role in nurturing Honolulu's creative community by co-managing a retail incubation venture and a local monthly market. These initiatives provided emerging artists with a platform to display and sell their work, bolstering Oahu’s vibrant art scene and underscoring his commitment to supporting and elevating creative talent.

Research Interests

Petey’s creative practice is deeply rooted in the intersection of music, sound manipulation, and visual storytelling. With a strong focus on turntablism, he explores innovative techniques and foundational skills that push the boundaries of sonic expression, blending rhythm, texture, and experimentation to create immersive auditory experiences. In addition to his work in music, Petey is an accomplished editorial photographer whose lens has captured compelling visuals for brands and corporations across Southern California and Honolulu, Oahu, Hawai’i. His photographic expertise extends to self-publishing, where he has documented his explorations through a street photography book that chronicles his journeys across Japan. Currently, he is working on a second edition, expanding his collection with evocative imagery from his travels to Seoul and Busan, South Korea, further solidifying his dedication to both capturing and reimagining the world around him.
