Perrin Grauer

Communications Officer

Bio

Perrin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Literature and another in Fine Arts, both from UBC. He also holds a Journalism Certificate from Langara, and worked as a reporter for the Toronto Star’s Vancouver bureau. Since arriving at ECU in 2019, his work as a writer and photographer aims to spotlight and celebrate the brilliance of the creative practitioners working and studying in the community.

Research Interests

Perrin is a dedicated painter and visual artist who maintains a small studio in Vancouver’s Mount Pleasant neighbourhood. Through a commitment to abstraction, his work explores themes including memory, archive and subjecthood. Broadly, he aims to underscore the unreliability of perception, the slipperiness of recollection and the pliancy of representation in the telling of personal and collective histories.
