Bio
Leslie Bishko is an animator, movement educator, dancer, Certified Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analyst and Associate Professor Emeritus at ECU. Her work bridges Laban/Bartenieff Movement Studies and animation through her ongoing research and teaching initiative, Laban for Animators™. Through dance, including flamenco and social dance forms, and as a certified Pilates instructor, her embodied practices directly inform her approach to animation. This integration of lived physical experience with animation grounds her perspective on movement analysis and extends it to animation pedagogy. Through teaching, writing, and public-facing projects, she advances an embodied approach to animation that links animation process to creative expression.
