Bio

Bringing a wealth of creativity and industry expertise to ECU, Jennifer joins us from Ontario, where she is a practicing designer and instructor at Fanshawe College. With 16 years of experience in residential design and home construction, her award-winning millwork designs are featured in publications across Canada. Jennifer’s creative practice spans printmaking, bronze casting and traditional Venetian mask-making, perfected while apprenticing in Italy. Her artwork, celebrating bold colour and intricate detail, is showcased throughout galleries in Toronto and the Kawarthas.

In this hands-on course, you will learn the basics of interior and urban design by how color, light, layout, and materials impact how people feel and move through a space. You will experiment with different design elements to create unified and welcoming spaces that reflect your style and ideas. Through sketching, mood boards, and model-making, you will redesign spaces to be more functional, engaging, and inclusive. From bedrooms to parks, you will tranform your ideas into thoughtful, people-centred designs that make everyday spaces better.
