Jennifer Dehoney, MCP, RCC is a visitor living, working and raising her family on the stolen territories of the Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. She endeavours to walk in a good way while here by contributing to the healing journey that is underway and led by the stewards of these lands. She is a member of the Missanabie Cree First Nation and is also of mixed European ancestry. She was formerly a physiotherapist and wellness coach and isone of the founders of Kilala Lelum, a health and healing centre in Strathcona. As a counsellor she is guided by Indigenous teachings that centre wholistic - physical, mental, emotional and spiritual - well-being, which she integrates with what she has learned from the field of psychology. Her approach is relational, attachment-focused, feeling and heart-centred and strengths-based. Jennifer’s clients tend to describe her as warm and calm. Laughter, tears and an authentic exploration of your lived experience tends to be what happens in sessions with her. Jennifer holds endless hope for the change and healing that her clients desire.
