Bio

Golriz Rezvani is a multidisciplinary artist. She earned her first Master of Fine Arts degree in Painting in Iran. Her work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally in solo and group exhibitions. In 2025, she was awarded the prestigious SSHRC Doctoral Fellowship. She joined ECU as a Continuing Studies instructor in 2021.

Research Interests

Golriz's multidisciplinary practice spans painting, drawing, sculpture, installation and video. For over 20 years, her work has explored themes of female resilience, cultural memory, and erasure, using everyday materials and a figurative approach to challenge dominant narratives and reclaim marginalized voices. Since immigrating to Canada, Golriz has taught at various institutions, including Alberta University of the Arts, Vancouver Film School and ECU. Currently, she is pursuing her second Master of Fine Arts at the University of British Columbia, where her research focuses on the intersections of feminism, materiality, and representation.
