Bio

Erin Green is a visual artist, illustrator and art educator who holds a Bachelor of Design from ECU. Her illustration work can be seen in children's books, album covers, posters, board games and magazines. In her visual art practice, she explores themes of transformation and Animism through sublime landscapes, abundant forests and uncanny characters. Her paintings have been exhibited at the Helen Pitt Gallery, Anti-Social, Mid-town Gallery, Diane Farris Gallery, Dynamo Arts Association and the ACT Arts Centre. Erin is also an enthusiastic member of Vancouver’s art community, curating and participating in events and exhibits throughout the city.

In this course, you will learn the necessary tools to tell great stories in the medium of graphic novels, such as character development, narrative structures, body language, passage of time, flow, perspective, and composition. Description

Illustration is a dynamic practice linking images to text, distilling thematic concepts through relatable imagery, and catching the attention of an audience. It has been used to illuminate text throughout human history and has become a sought after skill in various creative industries, including video games, animation, and visual effects. Artistic and creative directors, digital and technical artists, as well as production and design teams look to illustration as a key component to creative development. In this course you will be lead through hands-on projects, presentations, discussions and critiques that will expose you to a variety of techniques, media and styles as you explore how content, design elements and materials are used in the translation of ideas into images.
