Bio

Erika Thorkelson is a writer of creative non-fiction and fiction. Her essays, criticism, journalism and short stories have appeared in The Walrus, Chatelaine, Room Magazine and Maisonneuve. She is a settler of Icelandic, French and English ancestry who was born and raised on the prairies, and she holds an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of British Columbia.

Research Interests

Erika Thorkelson’s areas of research cover a broad range of topics including the intersection of feminism and class, pop culture and natural disasters. She is also interested in writing craft and pedagogy.
