Description

Watercolour painting displays wonderful control alongside a surrendering to the fluidity of the medium. This dichotomy is what makes watercolour both challenging and rewarding as a painting medium. Building on the foundational skills learned in previous painting courses you will discover the unique properties of watercolours, from their subtle, delicate tones to the variety of surfaces and textures possible with this dynamic medium. Through a variety of in-studio exercises and projects, you will learn the fundamentals of watercolour painting from traditional techniques and methods to more contemporary applications. You'll learn to control water flow, use colour, light, and shadow to create depth and dimension, and study dynamic compositions to improve your watercolour sketching and larger scale paintings created in studio. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced painter looking to expand your skills, this course offers a unique opportunity to work with the many possibilities of watercolour painting.
