Bio

Cheryl Li practices community-centred design in the space of inclusion and accessibility. She is a Senior Designer at the Inclusive Design Research Centre (IDRC) at OCAD University, using a co-design process to engage community organizations and stakeholders, facilitate inclusive and accessible working practices, and create accessible digital products and services. Her work spans financial inclusion for intersectional communities, exploring equitable and accountable consultation for disability communities, and creating a Community-Led Co-design Kit with her colleagues at the IDRC.

Cheryl's research interests include inclusive, equitable, and community-centred design, governance structures for community-led design projects and trauma-informed research and design.

Description

This 6-credit core studio allows for an intensive project-based learning experience in interaction design. Students will be exposed to skills and theories that build on the knowledge from second year, expand their design capacities, and prepare them to work independently in fourth year.

Interaction Design INTD 410 26/SP

Description

This team-taught course offers exposure to key aspects (values, concepts and skills) of 2D, 3D, and 4D Design. Students independently engage in design research and methods, analyze, design, present and evaluate ideas to meet required objectives through individual and group projects. Discussion and reflection help students make informed decisions about their personal and professional development. Collaborative and contextual project work is emphasized in order to develop students' community-based multidisciplinary teamwork, project management and client management skills.
