Writing is a space for resistance, experimentation and play.
Writing is a creative art with sketches, drafts, breakthroughs and finished work. At ECU, we see writing as both reflection and action in the world.
The Writing track invites you to explore language in a studio context and to experiment within a diverse community of supportive writers.

What You’ll Learn
You’ll develop writing as both a creative practice and a tool for connection. Courses span collaborative writing, script writing, art criticism, poetry, fiction, drama, graphic novels and creative nonfiction. You’ll also explore editing, publishing and performance, learning how writing moves from the page into the world.
Your practice can cross languages, genres and media. You might experiment with multilingual writing, link your projects to your art or design practice, or explore hybrid forms that blur boundaries between disciplines. Guided by professional writers, you’ll gain the skills to shape projects, test new ideas and strengthen your voice.
