Beyond the Classroom
We’re the #1 art university in Canada for many reasons — our excellence in reputation extends not only to your academic and studio experience, but also to the artistic opportunities you’ll have outside of the classroom and after graduation.
A BFA is about so much more than what you’ll learn in the classroom—it’s also about the vibrant community you’ll join during your studies.
You’ll be part of a dynamic arts community both locally and internationally. The Photography program is designed to give students as many opportunities as possible, including but not limited to:
- On-campus exhibition space to present your work to the public
- Regular speakers and events
- Networking events with notable artists
- Opportunities to exhibit work at our Capture Photography
Festival alongside established artists - TA, RA, and apprenticeship opportunities with faculty
- Industry experience and work-integrated learning opportunities
facilitated by our Careers team - Residency and collaboration opportunities, including with Porch
Gallery, a student-run gallery featuring solo and group shows

In Others’ Words
“A featured exhibition with Capture represents a unique chance for students to experience the full arc of developing work for professional public exhibition — a truly exciting step for students on their journey to launching their careers as exhibiting artists!”
Kyla Mallett,
Dean of the Audain Faculty
