| Description | This online project based course introduces
students to Northern B.C. First Nations art
forms. The course explores traditional and
contemporary forms and processes of working in
modules with birch bark, deer/moose hide,
caribou/moose hair, porcupine quills and beads.
A variety of materials and techniques are used to
create small scale utilitarian and aesthetic
objects. Contemporary projects will advance the
student's understanding of reinterpretation and
the relationship between materials, form and
function of Northern B.C. First Nations art
practices.
Completed studio projects will include:
