This course will introduce students to hands-on methods of surface design and textile printing using silkscreen techniques. Students are expected to have previous experience with screen printing and enough familiarity with the screen printing process to undertake advanced-level independent work in the medium. Critiques and discussions will encourage conceptual and artistic progress. Emphasis will be on the critical examination of the students' work, technical development and the exploration of contemporary ideas using screen-printed textiles.
