| Description | This project-oriented course builds on the knowledge gained in NMSA 218: OPEN SOURCE! Programming For Creative Practice. This course will further explore the use of the Processing programming language and environment and the DIY cultural practices associated with it. Technical instruction will introduce the Java programming language expressly designed for use in the distributed environment of the Internet and how this may expand students' web practices. The course will further develop the use of Processing for electronics, media and interactive projects. Students will complete a self-designed project. Students will demonstrate an ability to critique and contextualize work within critical, aesthetic, and historical aspects of computational aesthetics production.
