| Description | This course engages in discussion of how design
knowledge is represented and structured within
the design research community and within the
professional design communities. It also attends
to the ways in which design knowledge flows
through the process of designing, and how
different design models can be constructed.
Critical design takes a critical theory approach
to design. It is a process of design that
questions our values, mores and cultural
practices. It is also a process of
self-reflection, a position rather than a method.
Students prepare and write a
praxis paper that elucidates their thesis project |
