Description	Examines aspects of abstraction through the exploration of materials, colour and processes. A number of painting methods and techniques will be introduced, allowing students to gain skills in formal analysis, critical and conceptual thinking. An understanding of different approaches to abstraction as well as its relationships to representation will be examined from both historical and contemporary perspectives.
