| Description (ECIAD) | This studio course provides focused studio time to explore approaches to drawing that navigate between observation, transformation, abstraction and imagination. Students will develop their drawing skills, explore materials, and learn of new techniques as they develop content and meaning through drawing processes. Students will compliment traditional drawing approaches with inventive methods. They will develop a stronger awareness of methods of working that respond to the senses. Over the duration of the course, projects and exercises are interconnected, each producing the groundwork for the next steps. Discussions and individual/group critiques develop critical and analytical skills. The curriculum will include a variety of approaches that may include readings, artist presentations and field trips. |
