| Description | Through Indigenous-centred critical readings,
story-telling, presentations, class discussions,
and
student project work, students will develop a
deeper understanding of challenges, techniques,
skills,
and contemporary discourses and how their design
practices might counter, contribute, confront, or
mediate rising issues. As a practice-based design
study course, students will synthesize Indigenous
concepts with design practices, resulting in
projects such as written case studies, annotated
process
books and portfolios, curated exhibitions of work,
self-published booklets/zines, information
graphics/design, material studies and prototypes,
or narrative architecture. |
