Description (ECIAD)Drawing centres on observation, fostering creativity through imagination and the visual communication of ideas. Start an artistic exploration like no other, where traditional, technical, and experimental drawing techniques converge to help you perceive the world around you in exciting new ways. Through various exploratory in-class assignments and projects, you will learn different drawing techniques to expand your creative potential. From graphite and charcoal to pastels and mixed media, you will discover how to bring your vision to life through drawing, evolving from quick sketches to completed compositions that reflect your own style. This course is suited for those new to drawing, as well as anyone who is wanting to discover new ways of making. Working in the drawing studios at Emily Carr University, you will respond to drawing prompts and exercises, and explore personal interests through assignments, while engaging in peer and instructor-led feedback.
