Description (ECIAD)Learn core printmaking skills, including monotype, relief and intaglio in this introductory course. Students will be introduced to various traditional printmaking techniques, hand printing and mechanical press methods, and safe studio practices with the goal of creating both unique and reproducible works. Using a variety of surfaces and materials - from linoleum, wood, acrylic and found objects - students will explore and experiment with different ways to make marks, transfer textures, and create editioned images. Emphasis is place on establishing best practices, creative expression and exploration, and discovery of contemporary ideas of the printed form.
