Bio

Katharine is a Vancouver-based artist-educator with a background in illustration and fine art. After earning her M. from the Slade School of Fine Art in London, she worked with publishers and agencies including Penguin Books, Harper Collins and The Financial Times. Since 2010, she has specialized in teaching observational drawing, with a focus on botanical illustration and landscape painting. Her courses blend technical accuracy with creative exploration, encouraging students to engage deeply with historical and contemporary art. Katharine’s approach emphasizes the meditative and insightful qualities of close observation, fostering a greater appreciation for both drawing, painting and the natural world.
