Senate

The Senate is Emily Carr University’s highest academic governing body. It oversees academic policy, curriculum, degree requirements and credential awarding.

Made up of faculty, students, staff and senior leadership, the Senate meets regularly and operates through standing committees to guide academic planning, budget, appeals and awards. Its work is guided by the BC University Act and its internal bylaws.
