Media Research With Purpose

The Basically Good Media Lab (BGML) is a creative research space at Emily Carr University committed to exploring media technologies through fresh, critical perspectives. Our projects focus on developing novel forms of storytelling, performance and creative expression with an emphasis on social, ecological and political impact and community building.

We engage artists, designers and researchers in research about the role of technology in our lives and encourage development that serves the greater good. With the support of students and partners, BGML leads research and teaching initiatives that push the boundaries of immersive media and critical creative technologies.
