Bio

Lisa is an art educator and practitioner who specializes in figure art, illustration, and concept art. She has over 16 years of experience in animation and game development, including eight years working in studios such as Capcom Vancouver, Blue Castle Games, Fathom Interactive and IGG Canada, and over eight years of post-secondary teaching experience. She also independently illustrated and co-published her debut children’s book, The Stream. Her practice encompasses traditional and digital drawing, painting, character design, visual development and 3D production. She is particularly interested in observational drawing, visual storytelling, colour, composition and helping students develop both technical skills and creative problem-solving abilities.

Gesture-based figure drawing, colour, lighting, art direction, illustration process, children’s publishing and entertainment, Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and Self-Regulated Learning (SRL).
