Things to Know

Access

You’ll have access to the Communication Design Studio if you are currently enrolled in COMD courses. 

If you aren’t currently enrolled in COMD courses, and would like access to the Communication Design Studio, submit a Shops + Studios Access and Support Request. Capacity to support each request will be reviewed on an individual basis.

  • Various paper punches, including 1/8″, 1/4″, half-moon, and slot
  • Manual creasing machine
  • Manual perforating machine
  • Plastic comb binding machine
  • Metal wire coil binding machine (3:1 and 2:1 sizes)
  • Presses for glue binding by hand (double-fan press and padding press)
  • Rulers, T-squares, and measuring tools
  • Knives
  • Folding tools (choice of natural bone, plastic, or wood)
  • Bookbinding awls
  • Variety of other small handheld tools and supplies
