Bio

Dr. Kathryn Verkerk has over 20 years of experience in higher education across The University of British Columbia (UBC), Simon Fraser University (SFU), and Emily Carr University of Art + Design (ECU). Her professional background spans undergraduate admissions, student recruitment, financial aid and awards, academic and faculty advising, research services and co-operative education. Career highlights include leading SFU’s strategic enrolment management plan and supporting admissions model reforms at both SFU and UBC. Dr. Verkerk holds an EdD from Western University (2023), an MEd from UBC (2016), and a BA from SFU (2004). Her doctoral research focused on integrating equity, diversity and inclusion principles into admissions policy reform.
