Description

Adobe InDesign is industry-leading layout and page design software for print and digital media. In this introductory, technical-focused course, explore single- and multi-page layout creation through short practical exercises. Learn to typeset copy, configure pages and grid structures with parent pages, and incorporate images and graphics with correct resolution and colour space. Discover how to build a template layout file with placeholders for repeated use. Prepare packaged files for sharing with all assets, including press-ready PDFs viewable in Acrobat DC.

What You'll Learn

  1. Use different document sizes and formats to create single- and multi-page layouts
  2. Demonstrate effective visual hierarchy and style for typographic compositions
  3. Explore different grid structures to divide the page such as columns and guides
  4. Use parent pages to replicate objects and grids on multiple pages
  5. Incorporate images and graphics with correct resolution and colour mode (RGB, CMYK) for print and digital output
  6. Practice correct file management to maintain image links and prepare packaged files for sharing
  7. Export final press-ready PDF files with printer’s marks such as bleed and crop as appropriate
