Description

Start on a path toward future studies in web development and design, or create your own personal or business website. Designed for beginners with no experience or technical knowledge, this course introduces essential skills for website design. Offering an overview of web browsers, web servers and foundations of the web, this course emphasizes responsive web design, including adaptive web page content and layouts for a variety of web browsers and electronic devices. You will learn basic HTML and CSS to create dynamic web pages, or customize WordPress templates. By the end of this course you’ll be able to describe the structure and functionality of the web and have a working model for creating your own website.

  1. Describe the structure and functionality of the web
  2. Prepare textual and media content for websites
  3. Demonstrate knowledge of device-independent responsive website design
  4. Develop device-independent responsive sites
  5. Create dynamic web pages using a combination of HTML, CSS
  6. Review and test code to make websites functional
  7. Choose an appropriate web hosting service, and publish your webpages
  8. Develop a working model for creating your own personal or business websites
