Description

Adobe Illustrator is industry-standard illustration and design software for vector artwork. In this introductory, technical-focused course, explore Illustrator's potential to create logos, custom typography, complex illustration, and design layouts for any media through short practical exercises. Create and transform shapes with paths, strokes, colour, gradients, brushes, blending modes and effects. Arrange objects and images with groups, layers, and clipping masks. Create typographic compositions and transform a raster image into a vector using image trace. Export your work for use with other Adobe software and media.

What You'll Learn

  1. Understand the vector format and its appropriate creative applications
  2. Use Adobe Illustrator to create logos, custom typography, illustrations, and design layouts
  3. Create and transform vector shapes with paths, strokes, colour, gradients, brushes, blending modes, and effects
  4. Arrange objects and images with groups, layers, and clipping masks
  5. Adjust and manage colour for visual effect and correct colour mode (RGB, CMYK)
  6. Convert raster images into vector format with live trace
  7. Export final documents and artwork with resolution and file formats appropriate for print and digital output
