Description

Explore how motion can elevate user interface design, enhancing usability, guiding attention and bringing experiences to life. Through case studies, hands-on exercises, and creative design challenges, you’ll build confidence using motion to enhance the user experience through engagement, storytelling and interaction. From subtle micro-interactions to expressive branded animations, you’ll learn how to design motion that feels meaningful and intentional. Students will experiment with styles and narrative forms while considering accessibility, responsiveness and user expectations. By the end of the course, you’ll have a solid foundation in motion design principles, tools and strategies to support thoughtful, engaging UI work.

What You'll Learn

  1. Recognize current trends in UI motion and micro interactions and explain how they support usability and user engagement
  2. Describe how motion can guide user attention, reinforce hierarchy and support understanding in UI design
  3. Plan motion sequences using sketches, storyboards, and simple digital prototypes
  4. Apply core motion principles such as timing, pacing and sequencing, to create meaningful UI interactions
