Description

UX Designers often work with various stakeholders and cross-functional teams. Each stakeholder has their own expertise and perspective, which makes clear communication and effective collaboration necessary to ensure that everyone is working towards the same goals. Drawing from skills learned throughout the program, you will put into practice iterative design processes that respond to a client's design brief. With a focus on UX for product development, this major project course establishes the essential skills and strategies required to manage, influence, and perform successfully in a team environment. From effective project kickoffs to stakeholder engagement and presentations, you will gain valuable experiences in collaboration and effective project management, ultimately delivering a successful project that meets business and user needs.

What You'll Learn

  1. Apply knowledge gained from prior classes to lead a team project from concept to completion.
  2. Develop strategies to navigate projects with limited information, budget, time, or personnel
  3. Analyze project prioritization strategies, including MVP, JTBD, timelines, and goal setting exercises, to determine the best course of action for a given project.
  4. Implement strategies to foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
  5. Evaluate the effectiveness of different communication styles and storytelling techniques, and apply appropriate frameworks to influence and inform different audiences
  6. Create an effective project kickoff plan that includes the key elements of the project, and execute it with a team.
  7. Provide constructive feedback on a product throughout its lifecycle to improve and refine your presentation and critique skills.
  8. Evaluate feedback received to determine opportunities for improvement on a product pitch
